Started at the overflow parking on Rt2 across from Starr King Road. A short walk up Starr King Road to the trail head and began. This is a nice gradual ascent on a very well traveled/packed snow trail. Brought snowshoes and light crampons just in case, but neither were needed. Temps were low, about 14F, when starting. It was obvious how the elevation change affected how much snow/ice clung to the trees. By the top, trunk to tip was covered. It was a peaceful hike with amazing views at fireplace on Mt Starr King and the lookout just beyond the summit cairn on Mt Waumbek.
